Description
These toddler friendly cut out cookies are naturally sweetened, soft and easy to chew, and made with a small handful of real ingredients. They taste festive without being overly sweet, perfect for holidays, play dates, or baking together at home.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 tbsp milk of choice
Instructions
- Make the batter: In a large mixing bowl, add softened butter and beat until fluffy. Add in the maple syrup and vanilla, mix well.
- Add flour, salt and milk. Mix well until a shaggy dough starts to form.
- Remove from mixing bowl out onto a floured surface, knead by hand until you form a smooth dough (you can add a little extra milk if your dough is too dry). Roll into a circle.
- Chill: Wrap in plastic and place in the fridge for 15-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Shape: Remove dough from fridge, cut in half. Roll out dough on a floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick. Flour cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes.
- Bake: Transfer cookies to baking pan, bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown on the edges (do not over bake).
Notes
